What is a secret friend?
At JYM everyone is allocated someone who they secretly give little presents to and do nice things for throughout JYM. It doesn’t have to be anything complicated, fancy or expensive, just nice little things to make your secret friend feel happy! You’ll have a secret friend doing the same for you, too.
What kind of presents do you mean?
Just small things – don’t spend more than about €7.50 in total, and you don’t really need to spend any money at all if you’re creative about making things or sending hugs, for example. Secret friends often send things like bubbles, chocolate, balloons or bouncy balls, but be creative, bring whatever you think someone might enjoy. It’s nice if you can give someone a few presents, maybe one or two a day, but they don’t all have to be things you’ve bought. You won’t know who you’re giving presents to until you get to JYM so it could be a boy or a girl or even (heaven forbid) one of the organisers, so be adaptable!
